About Turbulent Wilderness

Turbulent Wilderness, Land — forest island, designed by Sergey Glushakov first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven Commander and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

Turbulent Wilderness would fit best in slower Simic (green-blue) ramp or control decks that expect the game to go long, especially in multiplayer formats like Commander where opponents are more likely to reach eight lands, making the drawback negligible in the mid-to-late game. However, in most constructed formats there are simply better options: **Breeding Pool**, **Hinterland Harbor**, **Yavimaya Coast**, **Botanical Sanctum**, and even **Dreamroot Cascade** provide green and blue mana with far less restrictive conditions, often entering untapped much earlier or with minimal cost. Because this card almost always enters tapped in the early turns—when tempo matters most—it would likely be too slow for competitive play and inferior to existing dual lands; at best, it could be a budget inclusion in casual or Commander decks that don’t mind delayed mana, but it would not generally see serious play unless stronger Simic duals were unavailable.
