Blowtorch (Plasma Freeze 86) fits best in aggressive Fire-type decks that already run a high count of Basic Fire Energy and don’t mind discarding them—such as Blacksmith-style acceleration decks or modern Fire builds that can easily recover or reuse Fire Energy—because its cost becomes less painful there. Its main role is targeted disruption, removing a Pokémon Tool, Special Energy, or Stadium, which can be strong against decks reliant on Double Colorless Energy, Special Energy engines, or key Tools; however, it is generally outclassed by more flexible and unconditional options like Field Blower (which discards up to 2 Tools and/or Stadiums without requiring an Energy discard) or Lost Vacuum (which removes Tools/Stadiums with an easier-to-manage cost in many decks). Because those cards provide similar or stronger disruption without forcing you to discard a Basic Fire Energy, Blowtorch is typically inferior and would only see niche play in a Fire deck that specifically benefits from dis
