Scarblade’s Malice would fit best in a black-based midrange or aristocrats-style deck that plays cheap creatures, sacrifice outlets, and benefits from death triggers—especially in Golgari (black-green) shells where the 2/2 Elf token is synergistic with tribal or token themes. It works well in decks that want combat tricks with upside, letting a small creature trade up thanks to deathtouch, gain life through lifelink, and still replace itself when it dies, making it solid in grindy, attrition-focused strategies or limited formats. However, in most constructed formats there are stronger options: **Feign Death**, **Malakir Rebirth**, and **Undying Malice** are generally better because they return the creature directly to the battlefield (often untapped or with a counter) instead of replacing it with a 2/2 token, preserving ETB effects and board presence; for combat tricks specifically, cards like **Supernatural Stamina** or even **Tamiyo’s Safekeeping** (in green) can offer more efficient
