Bogslither’s Embrace would fit best in a black-based deck that either exploits -1/-1 counters or actively wants its own creatures to die or shrink—such as aristocrats-style sacrifice decks, undying/persist shells, Hapatra-style counter synergy decks, or token strategies where placing a -1/-1 counter is negligible. In those builds, the “blight 1” cost becomes upside or at least minimal downside, making this a potentially efficient two-mana exile removal spell, which is very strong. However, outside of synergy-driven lists, the additional cost makes it clunkier than alternatives like Infernal Grasp, Go for the Throat, Bitter Triumph, or Sheoldred’s Edict, and in formats with premium removal, even one extra hoop can matter; unconditional exile is powerful, but if you’re paying {3} instead of blighting, it becomes inefficient at four mana.
