Butcher Ghoul would be a great addition to a deck that focuses on recurring creatures and sacrificing them for value, such as a black sacrifice deck or a zombie tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering. While Butcher Ghoul's undying ability allows it to come back stronger after dying once, there are potentially better cards like Geralf's Messenger or Bloodghast that offer more impactful effects upon entering or returning to the battlefield. However, Butcher Ghoul could still see play in certain strategies that benefit from its recurring presence and resilience.
