About Stoneforge Acolyte

Stoneforge Acolyte, Creature — kor artificer ally, designed by Chris Rallis first released in May, 2020 in the set Oath of the Gatewatch.

Stoneforge Acolyte would be a valuable addition to an Ally tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing card advantage by tutoring for Equipment cards. However, in a more competitive setting, Stoneforge Mystic is a better option due to its ability to put the Equipment directly onto the battlefield. While Stoneforge Acolyte may not see play in top-tier decks, it can still be a fun and flavorful choice for casual Ally-themed decks.

Rules

01/22/16

To activate a cohort ability, the Ally with that ability must have been under your control continuously since the beginning of your most recent turn. Informally, it can’t have “summoning sickness.” However, the other Ally you tap can be one that just came under your control. (Note that tapping the second Ally doesn’t use [the tap symbol].)
