About Drifter il-Dal

Drifter il-Dal, Creature — human wizard, designed by Justin Sweet first released in Oct, 2006 in the set Time Spiral and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Drifter il-Dal could be beneficial in a tempo-based blue deck that aims to control the board by utilizing evasion through shadow and maintaining card advantage by paying the upkeep cost. However, there are likely better options available for a similar mana cost that provide more consistent value without the drawback of needing to pay an upkeep cost, such as Delver of Secrets. Overall, Drifter il-Dal may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its limitations and the availability of more efficient alternatives.

Once a creature has been blocked, that creature remains blocked and will deal and be dealt combat damage even if it gains or loses shadow or if the blocking creature gains or loses shadow.
