About Decree of Annihilation

Decree of Annihilation, Sorcery, designed by John Avon first released in May, 2003 in the set Scourge and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's a key card in 1 combos.

This card, Decree of Annihilation, would benefit a control deck looking to completely reset the game state and disrupt the opponent's strategy. While powerful, the high mana cost and the fact that it also destroys your lands when cycled may make it too situational and risky to include in a competitive deck. Other cards like Cyclonic Rift or Wrath of God may offer more versatile and reliable options for control decks.

Rules

10/01/08

Cycling is an activated ability. Effects that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle or Rings of Brighthearth) will interact with cycling. Effects that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul or Faerie Tauntings) will not.

10/01/08

The cycling ability and the triggered ability are separate. If the triggered ability doesn’t resolve (due to being countered with Stifle, for example, or if all its targets have become illegal), the cycling ability will still resolve and you’ll draw a card.
