Draadhoutbewaker, Schepsel - elfmutant, designed by Mark Tedin first released in May, 2003 in the set Scourge and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Een deck dat zich richt op het snel en consistent verhogen van mana, zoals een Green ramp of Elf tribal deck, zou baat hebben bij het opnemen van Wirewood Guardian. Hoewel het kan helpen bij het ophalen van Forest-kaarten voor mana-fixing, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals Elvish Visionary voor het trekken van kaarten in Elf-decks of Sylvan Caryatid voor mana-ramp in andere decks. De beslissing om Wirewood Guardian op te nemen zou afhangen van de specifieke strategie en synergie van het kaartspel, maar er zou zeker spel in de juiste build kunnen plaatsvinden.

Forestcycling is an activated ability. Effects that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle or Rings of Brighthearth) will interact with Forestcycling. Effects that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul or Faerie Tauntings) will not.

Unlike the normal cycling ability, Forestcycling doesn’t allow you to draw a card. Instead, it lets you search your library for a Forest card. After you find a Forest card in your library, you reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.
