Een controle- of midrange-deck dat zich richt op het verhogen van mana en het beheersen van het bord zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Ugin's Insight, omdat het kaartvoordeel en selectie mogelijk maakt. Er zijn echter betere kaarten zoals Dig Through Time of Fact of Fiction die op efficiëntere wijze soortgelijke effecten bieden, waardoor het minder waarschijnlijk is dat Ugin's Insight in competitieve decks wordt gespeeld.
