Een kaartspel dat zich richt op legendarische wezens en voor zijn strategie afhankelijk is van specifieke sleutelwezens, zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Time of Need. In competitieve Magic: the Gathering-formaten worden kaarten zoals Green Sun's Zenith of Finale of Devastation echter vaak als betere opties beschouwd vanwege hun flexibiliteit en vermogen om naar elk wezen te zoeken, niet alleen naar legendarische wezens. Time of Need zou kunnen worden gespeeld in meer casual of themadecks die specifiek rond legendarische wezens draaien.
