Een Thousand-Year Storm zou enorm profiteren van een deck met veel spreuken dat zich richt op het uitspreken van meerdere instant- en tovenarij-spreuken in een beurt, zoals een storm- of spell-slinging-deck. Hoewel het een krachtige kaart in het rechter kaartspel kan zijn, zijn er andere kaarten zoals [[Aetherflux Reservoir]] of [[Grapeshot]] die mogelijk efficiëntere winvoorwaarden zijn voor stormdecks. Thousand-Year Storm kan echter nog steeds een leuke en krachtige toevoeging zijn aan een kaartspel dat graag een groot aantal spreuken in één beurt uitspreekt.
