Necropolis Regent zou een sterke aanvulling zijn op een vampierstammendeck in Magic: the Gathering, vooral in een agressievere strategie waarbij je je wezens snel kunt oppompen met +1/+1 counters. Voor een competitiever kaartspel kunnen andere opties, zoals Edgar Markov of Captivating Vampire, echter meer directe waarde en een betere synergie met het algemene spelplan bieden. Necropolis Regent zou nog steeds kunnen spelen in een casual of thematisch vampierdeck vanwege het unieke vermogen om je wezens te laten groeien, maar het is misschien niet de optimale keuze voor een zeer competitieve omgeving.

If that creature deals combat damage to a player at the same time it’s dealt lethal damage (perhaps because it has trample and was blocked), it will die before the triggered ability resolves and puts +1/+1 counters on it.
