Een kaartspel dat zich richt op kerkhofrecursie en beheersing van spreuken zou baat hebben bij het opnemen van Necromantic Summons, omdat het een krachtige manier biedt om een wezen terug te brengen en het mogelijk te polijsten met extra +1/+1 counters. Er zijn echter potentieel betere kaarten zoals Reanimate of Animate Dead die vergelijkbare effecten bieden tegen lagere kosten, waardoor ze efficiëntere opties zijn voor op kerkhoven gebaseerde strategieën. Necromantic Summons zou kunnen worden gespeeld in meer casual of budgetdecks, maar competitieve decks kunnen kiezen voor meer gestroomlijnde opties.
