Un mazzo incentrato su strategie aggressive e multi-avversario in formati multiplayer come Commander beneficerebbe dall'includere Fang of the Pack, poiché la sua abilità Melee può rapidamente potenziare il suo potere e quello di altre creature. Tuttavia, altre carte come Beastmaster Ascension o Overwhelming Stampede potrebbero fornire potenziamenti più consistenti e impattanti per un costo simile, rendendole potenzialmente scelte migliori per i mazzi che cercano di chiudere rapidamente le partite. Fang of the Pack potrebbe comunque essere giocato in mazzi più casual o tematici che apprezzano il gusto delle creature lupo o che vogliono sperimentare con la meccanica Melee.

Melee will trigger if the creature with melee attacks a planeswalker. However, the effect counts only opponents (and not planeswalkers) that you attacked with a creature when determining the bonus.

You determine the size of the bonus as the melee ability resolves. Count each opponent that you attacked with one or more creatures. It doesn’t matter if the attacking creatures are still attacking or even if they are still on the battlefield. It also doesn’t matter if the opponent you attacked is still in the game.
