Anche se Confiscation Coup può essere potente in certe situazioni, potrebbe non essere sempre l'opzione più efficiente rispetto ad altre carte come Control Magic o Treachery, che offrono effetti simili per meno mana. Se Confiscation Coup dovrebbe essere giocato dipende in definitiva dalla strategia specifica e dal meta del mazzo per cui viene preso in considerazione.
