Les boucliers éphémères seraient bénéfiques dans un deck basé sur des créatures blanches qui se concentre sur la protection des créatures clés et le maintien de la présence sur le tableau. Bien qu'il fournisse un effet indestructible temporaire, il existe potentiellement de meilleures options comme Brave the Elements ou Gods Willing qui offrent une protection contre plusieurs couleurs ou des avantages supplémentaires. Les Boucliers éphémères pourraient être utilisés dans des situations spécifiques où un effet indestructible ponctuel est crucial, mais ils ne constituent peut-être pas un élément de base dans la plupart des decks compétitifs.

If a creature you control has a mana ability with in the cost, activating that ability while casting a spell with convoke will result in the creature being tapped before you pay the spell’s costs. You won’t be able to tap it again for convoke. Similarly, if you sacrifice a creature to activate a mana ability while casting a spell with convoke, that creature won’t be on the battlefield when you pay the spell’s costs, so you won’t be able to tap it for convoke.

You can tap any untapped creature you control to convoke a spell, even one you haven’t controlled continuously since the beginning of your most recent turn.
