About Brittle Effigy

Brittle Effigy, Artifact, designed by John Avon first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic 2011 and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Brittle Effigy, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on removal and disruption. While it can be useful for dealing with problematic creatures, there are more efficient removal options available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile, which offer more immediate and versatile removal at a lower cost. Brittle Effigy could see play in budget decks or in specific metagames where exile effects are highly valuable, but it may not be a top choice in competitive play due to its higher cost and limited flexibility.

Rules

08/15/10

Brittle Effigy is exiled as a cost to activate its ability, not as part of its effect. If the targeted creature is an illegal target by the time the ability would resolve, the ability doesn’t resolve, but Brittle Effigy remains exiled.
