About Dawn PFL 87

Dawn PFL 87, Trainer - supporter, designed by Yuu Nishida first released in Dec, 2025 in the set Phantasmal Flames. It see play in 1 formats: Unlimited.

Dawn (PFL 87) fits best in traditional Stage 2 evolution decks that need to assemble a full evolution line—especially those running 1–2 copies of multiple stages—because it can grab a Basic, its Stage 1, and its Stage 2 all at once to set up in one turn; this makes it most appealing in slower, evolution-focused archetypes rather than Basic- or Rule Box–centric decks. However, in most competitive formats it is outclassed by stronger consistency Supporters like Professor’s Research (raw draw power), Iono (disruption plus draw), Arven (Item + Tool search), and Irida (Water Pokémon + Item), as well as by Rare Candy strategies that skip Stage 1 entirely, reducing Dawn’s value. Because using your once-per-turn Supporter on Dawn does not directly draw cards or disrupt your opponent, it is generally considered too slow for high-level play and would only see niche use in dedicated Stage 2 decks that specifically benefit from fetching all evolution pieces at once.
