Dakmor Lancer fits well in a black control deck or a midrange deck that aims to remove threats while maintaining board control, as its ability to destroy a nonblack creature upon entering the battlefield can help clear the way for your own threats. However, there are arguably better options depending on the format, such as Murder for its lower cost and flexibility or Toxic Deluge for its ability to handle multiple threats at once. While Dakmor Lancer can see play, especially in casual formats or specific strategies that leverage its creature type and synergy, more efficient removal spells may often be preferred in competitive environments.
