About Coin of Mastery
Coin of Mastery, Artifact, designed by Madeline Boni first released in Feb, 2026 in the set Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Eternal. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Coin of Mastery would fit best in an artifact-heavy Commander deck—especially one that consistently produces mana from artifacts (Treasure-focused decks like Prosper, Tome-Bound; Magda, Brazen Outlaw; or Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain) or decks using mana rocks to cast creature-heavy boards—because the +1/+1 counter scaling only becomes meaningful if a large portion of your creature’s cost is paid with artifact mana; it also synergizes well with modular, +1/+1 counter, or artifact-creature strategies. However, at four mana with no immediate board impact beyond future scaling and only tapping for a single Treasure per turn, it is relatively slow compared to stronger options like The Ozolith (better counter value retention), Hardened Scales (more efficient counter scaling), Inspiring Call (protection and draw), or Smothering Tithe / Academy Manufactor (far superior Treasure production), and even Urza, Lord High Artificer for artifact-mana synergy. Because it requires setup, doesn’t reduce
