A deck focused on applying status conditions and spreading damage would benefit from including Volcarona DEX 22, as its Burning Wind attack can Burn the Defending Pokémon and Scorching Scales increases the damage dealt to Burned Pokémon. However, in a competitive setting, there are more efficient cards available that can achieve similar effects more reliably, such as Volcanion-EX or Reshiram & Charizard-GX, making Volcarona DEX 22 less likely to see play in top-tier decks.
