About March of the Machines

March of the Machines, Enchantment, designed by Ben Thompson first released in Oct, 2003 in the set Mirrodin and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It's a key card in 25 combos.

A deck focused on noncreature artifacts, such as artifact ramp or artifact synergy decks, would benefit from March of the Machines as it can turn all your artifacts into creatures, potentially creating a powerful army. However, there are better options like Karn, the Great Creator or Karn, Scion of Urza that offer more versatile abilities and protection for artifacts, making them more viable choices in competitive play. March of the Machines could see play in more casual artifact-themed decks for fun and thematic purposes.

Rules

10/01/09

A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature is subject to the “summoning sickness” rule: It can only attack, and its abilities can only be activated, if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn.

12/01/04

Each artifact land has a converted mana cost of 0. March of the Machines makes them 0/0 creatures, which are put into the graveyard as a state-based action.

12/01/04

If a noncreature artifact is also another card type, such as enchantment or land, it will retain those types in addition to being an artifact creature.
