About Harvester Troll

Harvester Troll, Creature — troll, designed by Greg Staples first released in Jan, 2016 in the set Oath of the Gatewatch.

Harvester Troll would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures or lands for value, such as a Golgari or Jund sacrifice deck in Magic: the Gathering. While Harvester Troll provides a decent payoff for sacrificing a creature or land, there are potentially better cards like Viscera Seer or Korvold, Fae-Cursed King that offer more versatile or powerful effects. Whether Harvester Troll should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck it's being considered for.

Rules

01/22/16

Players can respond to the enters-the-battlefield ability (notably, while Harvester Troll is still 2/3), but once that ability starts resolving, it’s too late for any player to respond. You don’t choose which creature or land you’re sacrificing, if any, until the ability resolves.
