About Ground Rift

Ground Rift, Sorcery, designed by Thomas M. Baxa first released in May, 2020 in the set Time Spiral and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck that focuses on aggressive red creatures and wants to push through damage quickly would benefit from using Ground Rift, as it can help ensure that key blockers are unable to stop your attacks. However, there are better alternatives like Lightning Bolt or Lightning Strike that provide more versatile removal options or direct damage to finish off opponents. Ground Rift could see play in specific niche strategies, but overall, it may not be the most optimal choice for a competitive deck.

Rules

06/07/13

A copy of a spell can be countered like any other spell, but it must be countered individually. Countering a spell with storm won’t affect the copies.

06/07/13

The copies are put directly onto the stack. They aren’t cast and won’t be counted by other spells with storm cast later in the turn.

06/07/13

You may choose new targets for any of the copies. You can choose differently for each copy.
