About Forgotten Lore

Forgotten Lore, Sorcery, designed by Harold McNeill first released in Jun, 1995 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Forgotten Lore, would benefit a deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and card advantage, particularly in a green-based deck that can easily generate the required mana. While it offers a unique and potentially powerful effect, there are better options available such as Regrowth or Eternal Witness which provide more consistent and immediate value without relying on the opponent's choices. Ultimately, Forgotten Lore may not see much play in competitive settings due to its reliance on chance and the existence of more efficient alternatives.

Rules

10/01/08

You target an opponent when you cast Forgotten Lore. The opponent chooses a card in your graveyard as Forgotten Lore resolves. After that choice is made, you’re given the option to pay . If you do, the targeted opponent must choose a different card, if there is one. (If there isn’t one, this part is skipped.) Then you’re given the option to pay again. As long as you keep paying , the process continues. As soon as you decline to pay , the last card that was chosen by the opponent is put into your hand.
