About Abandoned Sarcophagus

Abandoned Sarcophagus, Artifact, designed by Daarken first released in Jul, 2017 in the set Hour of Devastation Promos and was printed exactly in 7 different ways.

A deck that heavily relies on cycling cards for card draw and utility would benefit from including Abandoned Sarcophagus, as it allows for the reuse of cycling cards from the graveyard. While it may not be a staple in every deck, it can be a valuable tool in decks focused on cycling strategies. Other cards like Astral Drift or Fluctuator may offer similar or even better synergies with cycling cards, depending on the specific deck and strategy being employed. Ultimately, the decision to include Abandoned Sarcophagus would depend on the overall game plan and synergy within the deck, but it certainly has the potential to see play in the right context.

Rules

07/14/17

A token permanent with cycling will go to your graveyard before ceasing to exist. It won’t be exiled. Similarly, a nontoken permanent that lost cycling while it was on the battlefield will also go to your graveyard.

07/14/17

Abandoned Sarcophagus doesn’t grant you permission to do anything with those cards except cast them. For example, you can’t cycle nonland cards with cycling from your graveyard.
