Stone Giant, Creature — giant, designed by Dameon Willich first released in Aug, 1993 in the set Limited Edition Alpha and was printed exactly in 17 different ways.
This card could be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on quickly dealing damage to the opponent. It can provide a temporary flying ability to a smaller creature, potentially enabling it to get in for more damage. However, there are better options available, such as Thundermaw Hellkite, which provides a more permanent flying ability and has a powerful enter-the-battlefield effect. Stone Giant may not see much play in competitive decks due to its drawbacks of destroying the targeted creature, but it could be fun in more casual or thematic decks.
10/01/09
If Stone Giant’s ability is activated during a turn’s end step, the delayed triggered ability won’t trigger until the beginning of the next turn’s end step. The targeted creature will be destroyed at that time.
08/01/08
If the Giant’s power and/or toughness change so that its toughness is less than its power, you can have the ability target the Giant itself.
