Nola OP15-069 fits best in purple decks that swarm or rely on midrange characters with 7000 power or less and want protection from KO/bounce effects—especially Animal Kingdom or Sky Island–tagged builds, or purple decks that flood the board with efficient 4–6 cost threats and need to keep them sticking (for example, Kaido, King, or other purple midrange/control shells that ramp and then protect key bodies). The protection being tied to returning a DON!! makes it most useful in decks that can afford the tempo loss or that actively manipulate DON!! (ramp/restand/recover DON!!), but it’s less attractive in very aggressive lists that can’t afford to slow down. Compared to other protection options, cards that grant blanket protection without costing DON!! tempo or that protect higher-power characters (such as event-based defensive counters or characters that prevent KO once per turn without resource loss) are generally stronger and more flexible, meaning Nola is more of a niche tech choice
