Killian’s Confidence would fit best in an aggressive Orzhov (white/black) deck that wants to apply early combat pressure with small, evasive creatures—such as Humans, Tokens, or Aristocrats-style builds—because it replaces itself with a card draw and can repeatedly return to hand if you’re consistently dealing combat damage, making it attractive in low-curve, tempo-oriented strategies. It’s especially appealing in decks that reliably connect with creatures (e.g., flying, menace, or lifelink threats) and can spare hybrid mana to rebuy it, creating grindy card advantage over time. However, compared to real Magic staples, it’s underpowered: cards like Defiant Strike (cheaper cantrip pump), Reckoner’s Bargain or Village Rites (more efficient card draw), or even Loran’s Escape and Malakir Rebirth (which protect creatures) often provide more impactful or efficient value, and Lingering Souls or Wedding Announcement generate far stronger board presence in Orzhov colors.
