A deck that focuses on creatures with high power, such as a Black-Green aggro or midrange deck, would benefit from using Essence Harvest as it can deal significant damage to the opponent while also gaining you life. However, there are potentially better cards like Gary (Gray Merchant of Asphodel) which can have a more immediate impact on the game by draining life from the opponent and gaining you life based on your devotion to black. While Essence Harvest can be a fun and flavorful card to include in certain decks, its effectiveness may vary depending on the overall strategy and synergy of the deck, so it may not see widespread play in competitive settings.
