A deck focused on graveyard synergies, such as a Golgari or Dimir graveyard deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from using Afterlife from the Loam due to its ability to reanimate multiple creature cards and turn them into Zombies. However, a more efficient alternative could be Liliana, Death's Majesty, which has a similar reanimation effect and can also generate Zombie tokens, making it a stronger choice in most situations. Afterlife from the Loam could see play in casual or thematic zombie decks, but in competitive settings, other reanimation spells may be more effective.
