About Turbulent Fen

Turbulent Fen, Land — swamp forest, designed by Sergey Glushakov first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven Commander and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

Turbulent Fen is best suited for slower Golgari (black-green) decks that don’t rely on early untapped mana, such as casual midrange, graveyard-focused, or Commander decks where games naturally go long and opponents are likely to reach eight lands; in those environments, it will often enter untapped later while still fixing both colors. However, in most competitive Constructed formats this card would be outclassed by options like Overgrown Tomb (shock land), Woodland Cemetery (check land), Llanowar Wastes (pain land), Blooming Marsh (fast land), Deathcap Glade (slow land), or even Command Tower in Commander, all of which provide more consistent untapped access to mana without depending on the opponent’s board state. Because Turbulent Fen only enters untapped when your opponents control eight or more lands—a condition that is slow and unreliable—it would rarely be optimal outside of very budget builds, making it generally playable only in casual or budget environments rather than high-po
