About Test of Faith

Test of Faith, Instant, designed by Vance Kovacs first released in Feb, 2004 in the set Darksteel and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

Test of Faith would be beneficial in a White Weenie or Aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, where protecting and buffing small creatures is crucial for maintaining board presence and pressuring the opponent. While Test of Faith offers a unique combination of damage prevention and creature buffing, it may not be as efficient as other options like Gods Willing or Brave the Elements, which provide similar protection effects at instant speed without requiring damage to trigger the buff. However, Test of Faith could still see play in specific metagames or strategies that value the additional +1/+1 counters it provides.

Rules

12/01/04

The +1/+1 counters are put onto the creature at the same time the damage is prevented. If a 1/1 creature would be dealt 6 damage, 3 damage is prevented and three +1/+1 counters are put on the creature. The creature ends up as a 4/4 creature with 3 damage marked on it.
