About Spawnbinder Mage

Spawnbinder Mage, Creature — human wizard ally, designed by Dan Murayama Scott first released in Jan, 2016 in the set Oath of the Gatewatch.

Spawnbinder Mage would be a great addition to a white weenie or ally tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing valuable creature tapping utility. While it may not be a top-tier card, it can still be effective in the right deck. However, if you're looking for a more powerful option, Captain's Claws could be a better choice as it not only provides creature tapping but also generates tokens for added board presence. Ultimately, Spawnbinder Mage could see play in a casual or budget deck focused on ally synergies.

Rules

01/22/16

To activate a cohort ability, the Ally with that ability must have been under your control continuously since the beginning of your most recent turn. Informally, it can’t have “summoning sickness.” However, the other Ally you tap can be one that just came under your control. (Note that tapping the second Ally doesn’t use [the tap symbol].)
