However, there are more efficient win conditions available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle, which can win the game instantly without the need to wait for an upkeep trigger. Therefore, Mortal Combat may not see play in competitive decks, but could be a fun and flavorful inclusion in casual or thematic decks centered around graveyard interactions.
