About Grub, Storied Matriarch // Grub, Notorious Auntie

Grub, Storied Matriarch // Grub, Notorious Auntie, Legendary creature — goblin warlock , designed by Jesper Ejsing & Jesper Ejsing first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

Grub, Storied Matriarch // Grub, Notorious Auntie fits best in Rakdos (black-red) Goblin tribal decks, especially in Commander, where recursion and go-wide aggression are valuable; the front side provides steady card advantage by returning Goblins from your graveyard, which synergizes well with sacrifice themes and self-mill, while the back side rewards aggressive play by generating temporary attacking copies, amplifying combat damage and death triggers. This would work particularly well with Goblin aristocrats strategies (e.g., Sling-Gang Lieutenant, Pashalik Mons) or token-heavy builds that can exploit sacrifice value, but it competes with very efficient tribal staples like Krenko, Mob Boss (far stronger for token generation), Muxus, Goblin Grandee (explosive top-end), and Wort, Boggart Auntie (more consistent recursion in Commander). While likely not strong enough for competitive formats due to speed and efficiency concerns, it could absolutely see play in casual or mid-power Comman
