About Dina's Guidance

Dina's Guidance, Instant, designed by Manuel Castañón first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Dina’s Guidance is essentially a flexible creature tutor, so it would fit best in graveyard-centric or toolbox-style decks in formats like Commander, where you can take advantage of either putting a key creature into your hand (for consistency) or directly into your graveyard (for reanimation, recursion, dredge, or aristocrats strategies). Golgari decks that care about death triggers, self-mill, or reanimating high-impact creatures (like Meren of Clan Nel Toth, Muldrotha, or Karador builds) would benefit most from this flexibility. However, there are stronger existing options: Final Parting (which puts one card in hand and one in graveyard) offers more value, Eldritch Evolution and Green Sun’s Zenith put creatures directly onto the battlefield, and Entomb or Buried Alive are far more efficient for graveyard setups, while Demonic Tutor is cheaper and less restrictive overall. Because it costs three mana and only finds a creature to hand or graveyard without card advantage or battlefield
