About Dewgong PFL 22

Dewgong PFL 22, Pokémon - stage 1, designed by Taira Akitsu first released in Dec, 2025 in the set Phantasmal Flames.

Dewgong PFL 22 would fit best in a Water-type deck that focuses on durability and favorable matchups against Fire decks, as Thick Fat reducing 30 damage from Fire (and Water) attackers can swing certain trades in your favor; however, its attack is very inconsistent since Slam relies on two coin flips to deal meaningful damage (0, 70, or 140), making it unreliable compared to other Stage 1 Water attackers. In most competitive formats, stronger and more consistent options like Baxcalibur-based Water decks (which accelerate Energy), Chien-Pao ex (which can hit very high numbers reliably), or even older staple Water attackers with guaranteed damage output are significantly better choices. Because Dewgong requires evolution, offers only a coin-flip-dependent attack, and lacks strong synergy or scaling damage, it is generally outclassed and unlikely to see serious competitive play, though it could be a fun or budget pick in casual Water decks.
