Serpent Assassin, Creature — snake assassin, designed by Roger Raupp first released in May, 1997 in the set Portal and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A deck focused on removal and control would benefit from including Serpent Assassin, as it provides targeted creature removal upon entering the battlefield. However, there are more versatile and efficient removal cards available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Murder or Doom Blade, which are more commonly played due to their lower mana cost and broader applicability. While Serpent Assassin may have niche uses in certain metagames or strategies, it is not a top-tier card and may not see widespread play in competitive decks.
