About Omni-Changeling
Omni-Changeling, Creature — shapeshifter, designed by Jeff Laubenstein first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Omni-Changeling would fit best in a tribal or creature-combo deck that can exploit both **Changeling** synergies and **Convoke**, such as a five-color tribal shell (e.g., Slivers, Allies, or general “Typal” decks), or token-heavy blue decks that can tap expendable creatures to help cast it early; it’s especially appealing in Commander where copying the best creature on the battlefield while retaining every creature type can create powerful synergy with tribal lords or cards like Kindred Discovery. That said, at five mana (3UU), it faces stiff competition from more efficient clone effects like **Phyrexian Metamorph** (cheaper and copies artifacts), **Spark Double** (keeps counters and avoids the legend rule), **Clever Impersonator** (copies any nonland permanent), or **Sakashima of a Thousand Faces** (strong in Commander), which are generally more flexible or cost-effective. While Convoke can reduce its effective cost in the right deck, it’s somewhat narrow and likely wouldn’t see compe
