About Heliod's Punishment

Heliod's Punishment, Enchantment — aura, designed by Aleksi Briclot first released in Jan, 2020 in the set Theros Beyond Death and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Heliod's Punishment, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to stall the opponent's creatures and disrupt their strategy. While it provides a way to neutralize threats temporarily, there are better options like Banishing Light or Detention Sphere that offer more versatile removal. Heliod's Punishment could see play in specific metagames where its unique abilities are particularly effective, but in general, it may not be a top choice for competitive decks.

Rules

01/24/20

If a creature is enchanted by two or more Heliod’s Punishments, it has only the activated ability of the one that most recently became attached. Activating that ability removes a task counter from only that one.

01/24/20

If the affected creature gains an ability after Heliod’s Punishment becomes attached to it, it will keep that ability.
