About End of the Hunt
End of the Hunt, Sorcery, designed by Alexandre Honoré first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven.
End of the Hunt would fit best in a midrange or control deck that wants additional edict-style removal, particularly in slower Standard or Limited environments where opponents tend to rely on a single large creature or planeswalker to win; it’s especially solid against ramp, reanimator, or “big threat” strategies because it forces the opponent to exile their highest mana value threat, neatly answering hexproof, indestructible, or ward creatures. However, at sorcery speed and with the opponent choosing among tied highest-cost permanents, it’s generally weaker than more flexible removal like Go for the Throat, Sheoldred’s Edict (which is instant-speed and more versatile), Infernal Grasp, or Bitter Triumph, all of which give you more control and tempo. As a result, this card is likely role-player material—fine in Limited and possibly a sideboard option in Standard if big threats dominate—but unlikely to be a staple unless the metagame heavily rewards exile-based, non-targeting removal.
