Unstable Mutation, Enchantment — aura, designed by Douglas Shuler first released in Dec, 1993 in the set Arabian Nights and was printed exactly in 9 different ways.
Unstable Mutation can be beneficial in aggressive tempo decks looking to quickly boost the power of a creature for a low cost, but its downside of adding -1/-1 counters can be a double-edged sword. A better alternative might be Rancor, which provides a similar power boost without the drawback of weakening the creature over time. Whether Unstable Mutation should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck, as well as the meta-game it's being played in.

The -1/-1 counters stay even if the Aura is removed, and the +3/+3 goes away when the Aura does.
