Heated Debate would be a great addition to a red aggressive deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a cheap and efficient way to deal 4 damage to a creature or planeswalker that can't be countered. This card could be particularly useful in a deck focused on quick creature removal and direct damage to quickly gain board control. While there may be other similar cards like Lightning Bolt or Searing Spear that offer similar effects, Heated Debate's uncounterable nature gives it an edge in certain matchups and could definitely see play in the right deck.

If Heated Debate’s target is illegal (perhaps because it gained protection from red in response) when it tries to resolve, it will be removed from the stack and no damage will be dealt.
