Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor would be a great addition to a red aggro or token strategy deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a steady stream of 1/1 red Survivor creature tokens that can disrupt opponents' board states. While it may not be a top-tier competitive card, it can definitely be a fun and effective choice for casual or themed decks. Other cards like Goblin Rabblemaster or Legion Warboss may offer similar token generation benefits with more consistent impact, but Varchild's unique ability to control opponents' Survivors upon leaving the battlefield adds an interesting twist to gameplay.

Survivor is a creature type. Varchild’s second ability affects any creatures your opponents control that happen to be Survivors, not just the Survivor tokens it creates. Similarly, its third ability affects all creatures that happen to be Survivors. A creature that’s all creature types is a Survivor.
