Trail of Evidence would benefit decks that heavily rely on casting a large number of instant and sorcery spells, such as control or tempo decks. However, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as cards that provide more immediate card advantage or board presence. While Trail of Evidence can generate card advantage over time, it may not be impactful enough in certain competitive environments where faster, more powerful options are available.

If you sacrifice a Clue for another card’s cost or effect, such as that of Angelic Purge or Tamiyo’s Journal, you can’t also pay and sacrifice it to draw a card.
