This card would be beneficial in a sacrifice-themed deck that aims to flood the board with creatures and then use them to reduce the cost of casting Torgaar, Famine Incarnate. It could work well in a black-based deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value. While Torgaar offers a unique effect, there are potentially better cards for similar strategies such as Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos which provide ongoing value through creature sacrifice triggers. Torgaar could see play in specific decks looking for a big swing in life total manipulation and sacrifice synergies.

In a Two-Headed Giant game, Torgaar’s ability causes the team’s life total to become half the team’s starting life total (normally 15, half of 30), but only the target player actually gains or loses life.

Torgaar’s first ability can’t reduce its cost below . You can sacrifice any number of creatures, even if they won’t reduce Torgaar’s cost any further.
