Great Furnace would be beneficial in decks that heavily rely on red mana sources, such as aggressive red decks or decks with a high concentration of red spells. However, in more competitive settings, cards like Ancient Tomb or City of Traitors may be better options for fast mana acceleration, as they provide colorless mana in addition to red. Great Furnace could still see play in budget or casual decks where the color fixing is not as crucial.
