A deck that includes both Island and Swamp cards, such as a Dimir control deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from using Choked Estuary as it provides flexibility in mana fixing. While Choked Estuary is a decent card for budget decks or casual play, more competitive decks might opt for better dual lands like Watery Grave, which enters untapped and can also be fetched with cards like Polluted Delta. Overall, Choked Estuary could see play in certain deck builds but may not be the optimal choice for high-level competitive play.

If an Island or Swamp is entering the battlefield from your hand at the same time as Choked Estuary, you may reveal the other land to have Choked Estuary enter untapped.

You may reveal any land card with either or both of the appropriate subtypes. It doesn’t have to be a basic land. For example, you could reveal Prairie Stream from the Battle for Zendikar set to satisfy the ability of Choked Estuary.
